Tax authorities in the country, TRA has collected 1.37 trillion shillings in September, slightly behind the goal of collecting 1.4 trillion for the month.

Director of Education for the taxpayer of the TRA, Richard Kayombo said the trend of repayment of government revenue is to convince you to achieve the objective of collecting Tshs 15.1 trillion for the fiscal year 2016.2017.

"In the ninth month the tax authority Tanzania has collected a total of Tsh trillion 1.37 and you notice during the first three months of fiscal year 2016 in 2017 until now, for the month of July August and September we shakusanya total of Shs 3.59 trillion. I think we are doing well, "he said.

"And remember that these collections are part of the 2016/2017 annual target of 15.1 trillion," he said.
